Default Whats up with FISH LABS?

Whats going on seriously? You guys make some of the best games out for mobile devices and all we see for the iphone is your early lineup. Whats taking you so long to port your heavy hitters? I want DEEP, GOF 2, and Blades&Magic! There are millions of iphone users that don't know Fishlabs right now, but they could! That would mean money in your pockets for the next lineup of stellar mobile games.

...sorry for the rant. I check your forums weekly looking for any updates to upcoming news and it looks like you guys fell off the earth. You guys are the BEST, now take whats yours.

RHOKK...my dear friend, plse have patience! i know you are a great lover of fishlabs games like us.but game development for java phone and, for iphone are different. it is quite hard to develop the same games for iphone aswell rather than developing for the java phones.

you are absolutely right, iphone users are increasing quite fast.but fishlabs are not sitting still.they are working, to make you happy...happier...happiest!you can see GOF, for iphone, is quite different than GOF for the java!

i can say with my common sense and a bit information that fishlabs shall come out with your desired games...soon.but you have to wait.till then enjoy the existing ones.have a sweet kernel of the autumn!

thanks!

Answer is simple- money. To have money in pockets, as You said, FISHLABS needs to develope game first. Developing has it's costs. Unfortunately, in java games case, developing costs were sometimes bigger than profits, becuse of pirates...
With iPhone there is no such problems so far (let's hope they'll never occure) but all in all developing costs are the same.

Besides, there is another condition. FISHLABS contains of 30 people only- they are not Gameloft with company filia in every continent including thousands of workers. But FISHLABS games are the best, irrationally. You need to be patient and You'll 'take whats yours.'
Latest ported game is Rally Master PRO- it's great news for every iPhone gamer. You have to wait week maybe to be able to download it from appStore. Have fun!

Regards,
Jarek

You don't need to get an iPhone, you better get an iPod... it's cheaper and more powerful

But if you're planning to get one, you should better wait some months until the new generation one appear!

Well... if it's a money matter then a 3rd generation iPod Touch should do it just fine, because until now there are not a lot of enhanced or exclusive content for it.

Don't expect exclusive content for the upcoming generation either, so the current generation would survive well two more years at least

Yeah, Fishlabs is making awsome games for java phones and for iPod too, but something else is also interesting: will they ever make games for weaker phones not only for strong and much stronger phones

Time passes by and so is technology.

Weaker device are put away at present because the power of strongest devices give enormous opportunities.
Just to explain it to You with an example: If You were PC games developer, would You design games for Windows 98 and 1 GHz processors with 64MB GC if You can design them for 4-core 3Ghz PCs with 1GB GC?

The same is with mobile games - people expect a lot because mobile gaming developes surprisingly quickly: they want to play on the level higher than PSP or other portable consoles.
